DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Freshmen
Joe French and
Jordan Preaster each scored 21 points to lead five Wildcats in double figures in their 100-42 victory over Trinity Baptist College Friday night.
Isaiah Bailey added 16 points,
Cletrell Pope a 10-point, 15-rebound double-double and 10
Leon Redd points as the Wildcats (2-2) reached the century mark for the second time this season.
French and Preaster combined to hit their first six shots as BCU shot 61.3 percent (19-31) en route to a 52-19 halftime lead. All ten Wildcat players scored in the first half.
French has led BCU in scoring three times this season. He's shooting 58.3 percent from three-point range after four games. Preaster had scored just 16 points in his first three games before going 9-13 from the field Friday.
Zen Goodrige put BCU at the 100-point mark on a free throw with 28 seconds remaining. Preaster's lay-up gave BCU its largest lead at 99-36 with 2:22 to play.
Parrish Hodby led Trinity Baptist (0-4) with 12 points.
BCU heads to San Antonio next weekend for games against Incarnate Word, Eastern Illinois and St. Francis (Ill.)
