DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman University's
Shayla Eugene and
Jordan Jefferson have been named to the 2019 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference All-Conference Volleyball Second Team, the league announced today [November 19, 2019].
Eugene, a senior libero from Ft. Worth, Tex. , led the conference in digs per set (4.41) while setting the BCU single-season digs records (503 and counting) after setting the single-match mark of 39 in the regular season finale at North Carolina Central.
Jefferson, a junior outside hitter from San Antonio, Tex. led the Lady Wildcat offense with 229 kills while recording 369 digs. She became the third player in BCU history to reach 1,000 career digs against South Carolina State on November 1. Jefferson was a conference All-Rookie selection in 2017 and a First Team selection last year.
BCU (8-23, 5-9) will face Morgan State (16-12,10-5) in the quarterfinals of the MEAC tournament Friday at 8 p.m. in Washington, D.C.
