TALLHASSEE, Fla. –The combination of
Malik Maitland and
Cletrell Pope proved to be lethal once again as Bethune-Cookman won for the 10
thconsecutive time against rival Florida A&M, 67-54, Saturday at the Al Lawson Center.
BCU (13-15, 8-6) moved to fourth in the conference standings with 20 apiece from Pope and Maitland. Pope earned his 19
thdouble-double of the season with a game-high 12 boards, while Maitland dished out a game-high seven assists and team-best four steals.

BCU grabbed the lead for good on a Pope tip-in at 15:54.

A 7-0 run over 90 seconds gave BCU its first lead of double digits when
Armani Collins sank a corner three at 4:32.

The lead swelled to as much as 11 on Maitland's lay-up with 1:40 remaining.Â

The Rattlers (11-17, 8-6) were led by Justin Ravenel's 19 points.

The Wildcats led at the break, 28-24, by shooting 44% from the floor (11-25). In the second half, the visitors hit half of their attempts, 15-30.

The Wildcats won on in the paint, 32-14, off turnovers, 24-11, and with second chance points, 14-6.

The Wildcats return home to host South Carolina State on Saturday, Mar. 2, for Senior Day.
