Chasimmie Brown posted a 15-point, 13-rebound double-double as Bethune-Cookman defeated Norfolk State 65-58 in a key Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game Saturday afternoon in Moore Gymnasium.
Amaya Scott added 10 points as the Lady Wildcats (13-9 overall, 6-4) used a 14-0 run to turn a 49-42 deficit into a 56-49 lead on two
Tania White free throws with 1:50 remaining.
Norfolk State (11-11,6-3) never got closer than five points after that as BCU managed a split of the season series.
BCU's first lead came on a Golden three-pointer that made it 37-35 with 3:02 remaining in the third quarter. Norfolk State took a 42-40 lead at the end of the period, and then used a 7-0 run after Scott tied the game it at 42 on a jumper with 8:42 to play.
Camary Harris was 7-7 from the line for BCU, which connected on 15 of its 19 fourth-quarter attempts. White added five points.
This was Golden's 23rd career 20-point game, and BCU is 22-1 when the senior from Tampa scores 20 or more,
Alexys Long led Norfolk State with 17.
