Angel Golden scored 20 points as Bethune-Cookman defeated Florida A&M 70-60 in the regular season finale for both teams Thursday in Historic Moore Gym.
The senior from Tampa moved into third on the all-time scoring list with 1,369 points as the Lady Wildcats (18-10 overall, 11-5 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) registered their seventh consecutive victory over the Rattlers (4-24,2-14).
Also, combined with Norfolk State's 74-59 win over Howard, BCU clinched the third seed for next week's conference tournament in Norfolk, Va.
Camary Harris added 15 points and
Amaya Scott 10 for BCU, which jumped out to a 23-13 first quarter lead. The Lady Wildcats were 8-13 from the field in the third quarter as they built the lead to 55-39 on a Golden 3-pointer with 4:15 left in the third and again in the fourth at 63-47 on a Harris lay-up with 8:42 left.
Candice Williams led FAMU with 17.
