TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Nine things to know about Bethune-Cookman's NCAA Softball Tallahassee Regional appearance against defending National Champion Florida State Friday at 2:30 p.m.
1) Â Â Bethune-Cookman is making its 11
th NCAA Tournament appearance. The Wildcats are 8-15 overall in tournament play and are in the post-season for the second straight year.
2)Â This is Bethune-Cookman's third appearance in a Tallahassee Regional, the last in 2004.
3) Florida State will be the sixth-ranked team Bethune-Cookman faces this year – we lost 12-0 to #6 Georgia, 10-2 #16 Kentucky, 4-1 to #13 Arizona State, 15-0 to #6 Florida … and wait for it – beat #17 Oregon 5-3 on 2/21 in California.   Other big wins this year – Virginia and Kansas, the latter for
Laura Watten's 700th coaching victory.
4) Bethune-Cookman enters the Regional winning 17 of its last 21.

Briana Paysinger has been hitting .413 since taking over the leadoff spot in the batting order since
Jacki Smith was lost for the season.

Alexis Bermudez' nine shutouts ranks her 16
th in the nation in that category.

Brianna Sanders has the team's current longest hitting streak at six games. Paysinger had the longest for the season at 12.
