Let's not play that Miami having an 0-2 record angle for Saturday's Bethune-Cookman vs. "The U" match-up at Hard Rock Stadium at 4 p.m.
The Hurricanes are the Hurricanes and will be the Hurricanes regardless if they've lost to Florida and North Carolina. Bethune-Cookman is going to be Bethune-Cookman regardless if it's trying to go 2-0 for the first time since 2014 or extended its winning streak to five straight dating back to last year.
"It's another football game," said Head Coach
Terry Sims, who improved to 28-17 with the season opening win two weeks ago against Jackson State. "We're preparing like we always do … to win a football game."
This is BCU's fifth go-around with the Hurricanes since 2011. The 2012, 2015 and 2017 meetings came in Miami's home opener.
It's a series no longer defined by an FCS going up against an FBS team, especially since BCU has two wins against another Miami-based FCS team – Florida International.  It will always be a chance for the Wildcats' strong South Florida contingent to play in front of family and friends and in a lot of cases, against former teammates and high school rivals on the Hurricane roster.
"I used to pass by [Hard Rock Stadium] as a kid wanting to play there," said junior defensive back
Sam Marc. "The dream's coming true. I can't wait."
"It's always a factor when we play there," Sims said about renewing old rivalries. "It's another reason to be prepared to put our best effort on the field."
BCU's defense enters the game leading a turnover ratio of plus seven in its last two games. That's seven turnovers forced while the Wildcat offense hasn't committed one. The defensive backs have also scored three touchdowns in those two games.
The ACC Network will broadcast.
