DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Tynesha Adams and
Bailey Robinson each had seven kills, but Bethune-Cookman's home opener ended in a 3-0 (25-20,25-23,25-20) set back to USF Tuesday evening in Moore Gymnasium.
Jordan Jefferson finished with six kills and 10 digs for the Lady Wildcats, now 3-9.
BCU erased an early 6-1 lead in the second set and took leads of 22-21 on a
Skyla Whitaker ace and 23-22 on an Adams kill before the Bulls (6-8) closed the set with a 3-0 run.
USF used a 5-1 run in the third set to pull away from a 10-10 tie.
Faith Landreneaux posted six kills, an ace and two blocks, and
Ryleigh Taylor had 15 assists for the Lady Wildcats, while
Kortney Curtis had nine assists and eight digs and
Shayla Eugene seven assists and eight digs.
BCU begins Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play Friday night against defending champion Howard at 5 p.m.
