EAST LANSING, Mich. – Bethune-Cookman University's women's golf team finished ninth at the Mary Fossum Invitational hosted by Michigan State.
Ana Ferreyra Heit's 54 hole total of 230 (76-74-80) was the low for the Lady Wildcats and earned her a tie for 17
th in the 62-player field.
Isabell Friberg (77-80-78 235) tied for 27
th while
Sumie Francois (84-80-76 240) came in 42
nd. Isabella Miravite (84-78-84 246) and
Maria Cowan (83-80-84 247) were 50
th and 52
nd, respectively.
BCU finished with a team total of 950 (320-312-318). The host Spartans outdistanced Western Kentucky 884-907 for the team title and had four golfers in the top sixth.
"The ladies are working very hard," said BCU Interim Head Coach Robert "Tony" O'Neal. "I am pleased with the effort and looking for continued success."
The Lady Wildcats return to action September 30 at Jacksonville University.
