DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman University's
Amaya Scott has been named the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference Co-Player Of The Week, it was announced today [January 28, 2020].
The 6-1 junior from Sunrise, Fla. averaged 20 points and eight rebounds per game this past week, shooting a combined 55.2 percent (16-for-29) from the floor as the Lady Wildcats swept their road swing at North Carolina A&T and South Carolina State.
She opened the week by matching her career high for scoring with a 23-point, 6-rebound, 3-assist, 3-steal, 2-block performance in a win over North Carolina A&T State (going 11-for-18 from the floor), before dropping 17 points and grabbing 10 boards against South Carolina State in her fourth double-double of the season.
On a six-game winning streak, Bethune-Cookman (14-5 overall, 6-1 MEAC) travels to Tallahassee to face archrival Florida A&M Saturday.
