TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman erased a 15-point first half deficit, but couldn't hold its second half lead as the Wildcats dropped a 73-67 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference decision to Florida A&M Saturday.
Evins Desir had 16 points to lead five Florida A&M (7-13 overall, 5-4 MEAC) players in double figures.
BCU (10-12, 4-4) whittled a 30-15 deficit to 37-34 at halftime then took leads at 42-41 on
Joe French's three-pointer and 46-43 on
Leon Redd's lay-up with 16:23 remaining.
Florida A&M scored the next eight points and would never trail again, leading by as many as seven.
Wali Parks brought the Wildcats within 67-65 with 3:15 remaining, and a
Jordan Preaster tip-in cut it to 70-67, but BCU could not manage the tie.
Redd had 16 points for the Wildcats while
Isaiah Bailey added 14 points and eight rebounds and Pope had 14 points.
BCU hosts North Carolina A&T Saturday.
