.@BCUHoops Fends Off NCAT Rally For 78-73 Win

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Leon Redd and Wali Parks each scored a career-high 17 points apiece as Bethune-Cookman defeated North Carolina A&T 78-73 on Saturday to start the second half of Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference play.

Malik Maitland added 15 points with six assists and Isaiah Bailey had 11 points and 11 rebounds for Bethune-Cookman (11-12 overall, 5-4 Mid-Eastern Conference) as it improved to 6-1 at home this season with a wild finish.

The Wildcats' largest lead of the night, 69-50 on two Maitland free throws with 6:28 remaining, dwindled to 71-69 when NCAT's Andre Jackson made a layup at the two-minute mark.

Redd sank two free throws and then Jordan Preaster threw down a dunk for a six-point lead that wasn't threatened in the final minute.

Tyrone Lyons had 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Aggies (12-13, 8-2), whose five-game win streak was broken. Cleveland and Jackson had 14 points apiece, Jackson with six assists. Ronald Jackson had 17 rebounds and eight points.

Parks was 7-13 from the field, while Redd was 4-7 in the second half. Maitland, who missed the last three games due to injury, had six assists.

BCU hosts Howard Monday night.

NOTES:  Preaster had a career-high 7 rebounds … This was Bailey's third double-double of the year.
