DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- Isaiah Bailey scored 24 points and
Leon Redd a career-high 23 as Bethune-Cookman topped Howard 87-68 on Monday night to sweep the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference season series.
Redd had 17 first-half points as the Wildcats (12-12 overall, 6-4 MEAC turned an early 16-6 deficit into a 38-30 halftime lead.
The Bison (2-24,0-11), hit seven of their first nine shots, but the Wildcats worked their way back into the game, taking its first at 30-29 on a Redd lay-up with 2:27 remaining in the first half during an 14-3 run over the final four minutes.
BCU extended its lead to 52-35 on a Bailey three-pointer with 15:33 remaining.
Howard cut an 18-point lead down to 58-49, but BCU pulled away an 11-0 run
Bailey hit 8 of 10 from the free throw line, while Redd was 5 of 9 from three-point range.
Malik Maitland had 14 points for Bethune-Cookman.
Wali Parks added 11 points.
Charles Williams had 20 points for the Bison, whose losing streak stretched to 14 games. Wayne Bristol Jr. added 14 points.
Bethune-Cookman plays Maryland Eastern Shore on the road on Saturday
