Armani Walker and
Amaya Scott each scored 11 points as Bethune-Cookman won its 11
th consecutive game by 11 points over Delaware State – 66-55 – in a Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference game Monday night.
Combined with Coppin State's 57-55 victory over Norfolk State, the victory gives the Lady Wildcats (19-5 overall, 11-1 MEAC) a game-and-a-half lead over the Spartans with four games remaining in the regular season.
Jumping out to a 7-0 lead, BCU held Delaware State (11-13,7-4) to 18.8 percent field goal shooting (3-16) in the opening quarter for a 18-9 advantage that would extend to 31-16 on a Walker field goal with 4:41 remaining in the half.

Walker, a senior, matched her career high with 5-6 shooting from the field. Scott, the team's leading scorer, was hampered by foul trouble but managed to score 10 points in the fourth quarter. Hatcher, a redshirt junior, reached double figures for the fifth straight game.
Tatum Hayes added nine points and
Ashlie Howell eight points and six rebounds.
Ashanti Hunt posted a team-high seven rebounds.
BCU returns home to face South Carolina State Saturday.
HEAD COACH VANESSA BLAIR-LEWIS
"We came out aggressively looking to attack and get to the paint and we were able to do that early. Our foul trouble early hurt our starting rotation but we were able to get key minutes off of the bench from several players.
"We needed to show better poise down the stretch with taking care of the ball and knocking down our free throws."
NOTES: This was the first time Walker has led the team in scoring ... Hatcher has shot 50% from the field or better in each of the five straight games she's scored double figures ... BCU matched a season high with 48 rebounds and had a +13 advantage on the boards.
