DADE CITY, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman University's
Marcus Sundlof posted his second top five individual finish of 2020, coming in third at the Saint Leo Invitational at Lake Jovita Golf and Country Club.
The senior from Sweden posted the tournament's low round of 66 to put him within one shot of the lead after 36 holes, but Nova Southeastern's Tomas Millet fired a final-round 70 to finish one shot ahead of Saint Leo's Alberto Castagnara (209) and three ahead of Sundlof (211).
Sundloff won the Titan Invitational last month.
"Marcus had a solid tournament overall," said BCU Interim Head Coach Robert "Tony" O'Neal. "This experience will help him improve on finishing strong as he continues this season."
BCU finished 11
th in the team standings with a team score of 868.
Jesper Gullstrand (79-76-80 235) tied for 54
th,
Kevin Sims (77-80-80 237) tied for 58
th while
Devin Smith (81-89-83 253) and
Carlos Arteta (95-86-88 269) came in 74
th and 77
th respectively."
"We're getting better as a team," O'Neal said. "It's a matter of being ready to play on a week-in, week-out basis."
BCU returns to action March 9-10 in the Orlando Invitational hosted by George Mason.
