BOCA RATON, Fla. – Victoria Guzman and
Destiny Enriquez combined on a six-hit shutout that gave Bethune-Cookman its first victory of the season, a 2-0 victory over Indiana State at the FAU First Pitch Classic.
Earlier in the day, the Wildcats (1-3) fell 8-0 to #25/23 Wisconsin.
Guzman picked up the win, scattering four hits and striking out two in four and two-third innings. Enriquez gave up two hits in relief.
Carrington Robinson gave BCU a 1-0 lead in the third when she scored on
Quianah Mitchell's groundout.
Haley Parks scored on a sixth-inning error.
Parks had two of BCU's four hits in the game.
Earlier, BCU and Wisconsin were scoreless after three, but the Badgers used a four-run fourth to break open the game.Â
Samantha Kelley had two hits for the Wildcats.
BCU faces Wisconsin again Sunday at 11:15 a.m. to conclude the tournament.
