DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman host Prairie View A&M University in a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) regular season matchup.

Bethune-Cookman (0-6 overall, 0-3 SWAC) looks for their first win of the season. Last week the Wildcats lost a heart-breaker to Mississippi Valley State , 20-14. Offensively Bethune-Cookman was led by Black who finished with 307 yards passing and two touchdowns. Que-shaun Byrd led B-CU with eight catches for 145 yards while Averett finished with five catches for 139 yards and a touchdown. Defensively, Untareo Johnson had a game-high 14 tackles. B-CU punter Benjamen Lennon punted the ball six times for an avg. of 43.6 while pinning the Delta Devils inside the 20-yardline one time.

Prairie View A&M (4-1 overall, 3-0 SWAC) enters Saturday's contest on their best start since 2016 after a 27-17 victory over Arkansas Pine Bluff. Jawon Pass threw for 182 yards and rushed for 70 and two scores while Lyndemai Brooks rushed for 70 and two scores as PVAMU racked up 509 yards of total offense to take its third straight and stay atop the West Division. Brooks has rushed for 244 yards this year while Pass has completed 61.7 percent of his attempts for 1,281 and eight touchdowns. Antonio Mullins has caught a team-high 24 passes for 318 yards and a pair of scores.
Defensively, Drake Cheatum has 34 tackles while Logan Jackson has made two interceptions.

UNFAMILIAR FOE: This is only the second meeting between the two programs. B-CU won the MEAC/SWAC Challenge match-up in 2011 in Orlando after scoring 42 points in the first half.

BYE BYE BYE: This will be the second time in a row B-CU has not had an opponent coming off a bye week. Alabama A&M, Alabama State and South Carolina State all had a week off before meeting the Wildcats. Mississippi Valley State and PVAMU won their game before meeting the Wildcats.

AVERETT AT THE TOP: TE Kemari Averett leads the SWAC with 542 yards. He's second in touchdown catches (5) and third in average yards (18.7) per catch.

DEAS, PLEASE: KR Darnell Deas is the only player in the SWAC with a TD return this season. In addition to the two touchdowns, Deas also leads the league with 355 yards and a 32.3 average.

LENNON, DOWN UNDER: Australian transfer Ben Lennon is second in the SWAC with a 41.4 average. He's had three punts over 50 yards with a season-long of 61.

UNHEAVEN SEVEN: B-CU hasn't lost seven straight since 1996. That team finished 2-9.
