CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Tatum Hayes and
Taylor Williams each scored 10 points in Bethune-Cookman's 55-43 setback at Miami Friday night.
Mykea Gray scored 12 points as the Hurricanes (2-0) held the Wildcats (1-1) to three first-quarter points and led from start to finish.
Down 33-13, the Wildcats scored 16 unanswered points to cut the deficit to 33-29 on a
Kayla White free throw with 3:09 remaining in the third quarter. Miami would score six of the next seven points and would build its lead to 52-33 with 6:09 remaining.
Hayes also had five rebounds for Bethune-Cookman.
Imani Reid led the team with eight rebounds. Miami native
Kayla Clark and White each added seven points.
Bethune-Cookman faces Florida Atlantic Sunday at 2 p.m.
