TROY, Ala. – Morgan Beacham scored 19 points in Bethune-Cookman's 84-58 loss at Troy Thursday night.
Felmas Koranga double-doubled with 16 points and 19 rebounds as the Trojans (3-1) outscored the Wildcats 25-10 in the third quarter to pull away from a tight 34-33 game. Troy closed the game on a 15-2 run.
B-CU had a 27-24 lead on
Tatum Hayes' 3-pointer with 6:10 remaining in the first half and 29-26 on a
Kayla White jumper with 5:03 to play. Troy scored six unanswered points for a 32-29 lead and got a Koranga jumper to break a 32-32 tie.
Beacham, a junior, was 12-16 from the line and co-led the Wildcats' rebounding with
Taylor Williams with six.
White, a freshman, registered her first double-figure game with 10 points. Hayes finished with nine on three three-pointers.
B-CU travels to Mississippi State Monday night.
STATS: B-CU held Troy to one three-pointer in 14 attempts but was outrebounded 68-35 and outscored 19-7 on second chance points and 54-16 in the paint. All eight Wildcats who played scored.
