Updated: February 4, 2021

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –
With his team transitioning through a challenging pandemic and into a new conference home, Bethune-Cookman University Head Coach Terry Sims announced a 2021 National Signing Day class of 24 student-athletes Wednesday afternoon (February 3, 2021).

The Wildcats will return to action this fall as members of the Southwestern Athletic Conference.

"We have a lot to look forward to," Sims said. "I want to thank my coaching staff for persevering through these interesting days as well as once again producing an outstanding recruiting class that will continue the proud tradition of Wildcat football."

Sims addressed the Wildcats' quarterback needs both short and long term. Transferring in will be Shannon "The Cannon" Patrick from Arkansas Pine-Bluff, who, at West Palm Beach Wellington HS, led the state of Florida with 3,438 yards and 52 total touchdowns. He then went to Northland Community and Technical College and led the NJCAA with 4,506 yards and 43 touchdowns. The Wildcats also signed quarterbacks Daeaan Hooper, who spent a season at Bradenton's IMG Academy,  and Tysan Robbins, who a played   a major role in Orlando Jones' 2019 state championship appearance and deep playoff run last year.

"Shannon has the arm strength and the experience," Sims said. "Daeaan and Tysan have the talent and I'm excited about the potential of this group.

"In addition to quarterback, we got better on both sides of the ball and special teams," Sims added. "You can't ask for a more complete recruiting class. I'm looking forward to getting back on the field."

Bethune-Cookman will announce its inaugural 2021 SWAC schedule in the near future.
