ORLANDO, FL – Bethune-Cookman University football started where they left off the previous week, moving the ball down the field but it couldn't withstand a UCF team that started running on all cylinders the rest of the way as the Knights won 63-14 Saturday night in Orlando, Fla. in front of 38,443 fans.

It only took Central Florida 1:09 on four plays and 55 yards to get on the board, giving them the early 7-0 lead. B-CU responded with a 14-play 75 yard drive, capped by a 15 yard touchdown pass from Shannon Patrick to Darryl Powell Jr. tying the score at 7-7.

After the Wildcat defense forced a 4th down, the Knights offense went for it and converted leading to a 22-yard TD pass from Dillon Gabriel to Brandon Johnson giving UCF the early 14-7 lead to end the quarter.

UCF extended their lead to 42-7, on three TD runs by Isaiah Bowser of one, one and nine yards while Gabriel scamperted into the endzone from 44-yards.

Bethune-Cookman would get their final point of the game with Patrick connected with Daveno Ellington on a 30-yard post down the middle of the field making the score 42-14.

The Knights capped the night with two more passing and one rushing TD for the final 63-14 score.

Turning Point
With the score tied 7-7 late in the 1st Quarter Central Florida converted on a 4th down deep in Bethune-Cookman territory and followed it with a 22-yard TD pass from Gabriel to Johnson making the score 14-7 with 1:08 remaining in the quarter.

Individual Leaders
For the second consecutive week the Wildcats were led on offense by Patrick how finished 27-of-48 for 248 yards and two touchdowns. The offensive line did not allow a sack to the Knights stingy defense. Powell and Marcus Riley led the receiving corps hauling in six catches each.

Defensively, Tekeven Thomas finished with a game-high eight tackles while Tony Bowman Jr. had four tackles and the teams lone sack.

Bethune-Cookman punter and Utah transfer Ben Lennon averaged 40.9 yards per punt including his longest punt of 47 yards.
