White Scores Career-High 21 As @BCUWBB Falls At Alabama State

MONTGOMERY, Ala. – Tania White scored a career-high 21 points in Bethune-Cookman's 81-64 Southwestern Athletic Conference loss at Alabama State Saturday afternoon.

Shyma Ward's 20 points led a balanced scoring attack as the Hornets (6-11 overall, 5-3 conference) shot 81.3 percent (13-16) in the fourth quarter to break open a 53-50 contest.

The Wildcats (3-14,2-6) fell behind 21-9 early in the second quarter, but got it back to 36-32 at halftime and stayed closed, closing to three points on White's jumper with 9:48 remaining. Alabama State answered with consecutive three-pointer to make it 59-50 and gradually pulled away after that.

White was 8-20 from the field and 4-6 from the line as she passed her previous high of 20 earlier this year against Grambling State.

Morgan Beacham added 17 for the Wildcats.

B-CU continues this Alabama swing Monday at Alabama A&M.

NOTES: Tania White had all nine first-quarter B-CU points … The Wildcats were 8-12 from the field in the second quarter … Kayla Clark was in double-figure rebounding with 10… Tatum Hayes had four assists … B-CU was 16-19 from the line, its second best free throw shooting game of the season.
