JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The Wildcats will take their talents to Duval County for a Prime SWAC matchup as they host the Tigers of Jackson State Saturday, Oct. 15 at TIAA Bank Field in Jacksonville, Fla.

Bethune-Cookman returns to Florida, but not quite home, as the Wildcats set up shop in Jacksonville for Saturday's game against Jackson State at TIAA Field. The Wildcats will head out on the road again next week , making to trips to Mississippi to play MVSU and Texas to play Prairie View the final two weeks of October.
With the campus closed after sustaining significant damage from Hurricane Ian, the Wildcats have made Huntsville, Ala. Nashville, Tenn. and Jacksonville home the past threes. Campus dorms are being opened this week with classes scheduled to begin October 17.
Bethune-Cookman is 29-23-1 in 53 games all-time in Jacksonville at the venue. This will be Bethune-Cookman University's first return to the area since 2006 where they played Southern in the Gateway Classic, falling 30-29.
B-CU has a strong history in the Jacksonville area. Former NFL star and Wildcat Head Coach Alvin Wyatt hails from the city, which has produced two of the top QBs in program history – Bernard Hawk and the late J.D. Hall. Former Jacksonville Jaguar Rashean Mathis – the 2002 Buck Buchannan Award winner, made the Pro Bowl for his hometown team, whose B-CU presence include Ryan Davis, who once sacked Tom Brady in a 2015 Jaguars-Patriots game.

Senior tight end Kemari Averett has received numerous preseason awards, including being named the best tight end on the 2022 Black College Football Hall of Fame Player of the Year Watch List. Averett was also named to the All-SWAC First Team at SWAC media day in July, as well as the Stats Perform Walter Payton Award Preseason Watch, the 2022 HERO Sports FCS Preseason All American Second Team Offense, and the BOXTOROW HBCU All-American Second Team.

OMARI ON TOP
Omari Hill-Robinson has registered an interception in his last three games, the longest streak of his career. He had back-to-back games with picks in 2021, registering them against Alcorn State and Grambling State.
LEE THE LEADER
Wide receiver Dylaan Lee has caught a pass in all five this season, including five at Miami and five against Alabama A&M…. His 2022 yardage total has already passed last year's 185 … he has eight straight games with multiple catches.
