Davis Forces OT, Wildcats Hold on to Defeat Idaho State

CONWAY, Ark. – The Wildcats trailed for all but two minutes of regulation, but a late Kevin Davis layup forced OT where the Wildcats held on to take down Idaho State, 68-66, Saturday night in Conway, Ark.

How it Happened

The Wildcats (3-3, 0-0 SWAC) last regulation lead came at the 17:44 mark in the first half, when they lead the Bengals (1-5, 0-0 Big Sky), 3-2. From there, B-CU trailed by as much as seven in a tightly contested game.

The Wildcats closed the gap to just four with four minutes to play, and Kevin Davis broke free for a fastbreak layup with 22 seconds remaining to knot the contest at 64-64.

A grueling overtime saw the Bengals miss all six shot attempts, while the Wildcats connected on only one of six shots.

With two minutes remaining, Zion Harmon was fouled on a shot attempt behind the arc. He drained two of three attempts to put B-CU up 68-66, and the Wildcats held on for the victory.

Kevin Davis led the Wildcats with 16 points. Dylan Robertson had 14, Zion Harmon 11, and Damani McEntire 10 to round out the Wildcats in double figures.

Robertson led the Wildcats with seven boards. McEntire swiped five steals. Harmon dished out five assists.
