JACKSON, Miss. – A hot shooting night from Jackson State was too much for the Wildcats to overcome as they fell, 71-51 to the Tigers, Monday night in Jackson, Miss.
How It Happened
The Wildcats (7-18, 5-8 SWAC) led, 8-5 early in the game thanks to six early points from
Joe French, but things quickly got away from B-CU. Jackson State (8-16, 6-7 SWAC) cruised out to a 12 point lead that ballooned to 16 by the end of the first half.
The Wildcats did not fare much better after halftime. The Tigers' lead swelled to as much as 23 in the game. Jackson State never let off on the offensive end on the way to the 71-51 win.
French led the Wildcats with 16 points along with two steals.
Marcus Garrett added 14, two assists, and four rebounds.
Kevin Davis contributed seven points and six rebounds.
Ken Evans led the Tigers with 22 points and ten rebounds.
Notes
- The Wildcats shot only 34 percent in the game, and made only three of 15 shots from deep.
- B-CU was out-rebounded, 41-26.
- The Wildcats turned the ball over only five times.
- B-CU scored 13 points off turnovers and 13 second chance points.
