DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Kayla Clark's 16-point, 15-rebound double-double led a balanced scoring effort as Bethune-Cookman downed Texas Southern 71-67 in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game Monday in historic Moore Gym.

Imani Reid added 15 as the Wildcats (4-16 overall, 3-8 SWAC) snapped a five-game losing streak.

Texas Southern (6-12,6-5) led 49-47 entering the fourth quarter, but B-CU took the lead at 55-53 on a Camary Harris three-pointer with 8:02 remaining.

The Wildcats built a 67-59 lead on a Clark lay-up with 3:12 remaining, but Texas Southern closed the gap to 70-67 on Adriana Avant's lay-up with 12 seconds to play. Harris sank a free throw with five seconds left to seal the victory.

Harris and Kayla White each scored 10 points for B-CU, who jumped out to an early 13-1 lead and led 23-14 at the end of the first quarter.

Atayla Bridges led Texas Southern with 23.

B-CU plays at Alcorn State on Saturday.

HEAD COACH JANELL CRAYTON

"It was an amazing team win. Everyone contributed."

"When you find a way to win with 31 turnovers … but we made a turnover and got a defensive stop or made a turnover and then got a rebounding … we didn't let their runs get to us."

"The team came together and played together. I can't ask for anything else."

"Our defense locked them down in the fourth quarter and got stops."

NOTES: This was Clark's third double-double of the season….Reid's 15 points was a career-high … B-CU has scored 70 or more in all four victories…The Wildcats overcame 31 turnovers … B-CU had a season-high 15 steals and outrebounded TSU 36-29 … Morgan Beacham had four steals.
