DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman dropped its second straight one-run game as Alabama State rallied for a 3-2 Southwestern Athletic Conference victory Friday at Sunnyland Park.
The visiting Hornets (12-12 overall, 4-0 SWAC) scored two runs in the seventh to remain unbeaten and hand the Wildcats (6-18,1-3) their third straight loss.
B-CU took a 2-0 lead in the third when
Briana Paysinger's two-run single brought home
Carrington Robinson and
Joslynn Davis.
Kayla Traylor and
Julissa Gomez each added singles for B-CU.
Hannah Ortega scattered six hits and struck out seven for B-CU inside the circle.
The two teams play a doubleheader beginning Saturday at noon.
