DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Jasmine Moore and
Jaedyn Newman each had nine kills and six digs in Bethune-Cookman's 3-0 (25-16,25-15,25-18) Southwestern Athletic Conference opener loss to Florida A&M Friday night in Historic Moore Gym.
Alisha Callender posted 11 assists, six digs, three blocks and three kills for the Wildcats, now 0-13,0-1.
Alleah Dallas had three blocks and three kills.
Bethune-Cookman erased a 10-4 deficit to the tie the first set at 10-10 on a block from Moore and Dallas, but the Rattlers (4-11,1-0) countered with a 6-1 run to regain control.
The Wildcats took a 10-6 lead in the second set.
Moore gave B-CU a 12-11 lead in the third set. B-CU also had a 15-14 lead before the Rattlers pulled away.
Adrianna Marrero posted 11 digs for the Wildcats.
Madison Coates had nine assists and seven digs.
B-CU returns to action Friday at Alabama State.
