BETHLEHEM, Pa. – Bethune-Cookman Women's Golf concluded the 2023 fall portion of its schedule on Tuesday, as the Wildcats turned in a 13th place showing at the Lehigh University Invitational held at renowned Saucon Valley Country Club.
During both day's of the competition, tee times were pushed back accordingly due to frost in and around the Lehigh Valley area of Pennsylvania. Temperatures for the tournament hovered around the mid-to-upper 50s, while winds were sitting between 10-15 miles per hour for the duration.
As a unit, Bethune-Cookman shaved six strokes from its opening round 334 on Monday, helping the Maroon and Gold to a two-day 662 (+86) with Tuesday's final round collective 328, respectfully.
The Wildcats turned to junior
Katie Robinson (77-82=159, +15) to lead the scoring, as the American Canyon, California native finished tied for 22nd on the final tournament leaderboard.
Behind Robinson was Canada product
Skylar Kew (90-77=167, +23) finishing tied for 55th in the field, after the sophomore cut 13 strokes from Monday's opening 18 holes. She fired a second round 5-over 77 for the Wildcats.
Grad transfer
Jenna Werle (85-82=167, +23) matched Kew with a tie for 55th on the final leaderboard with the former Coker College product firing a second round 82 in cutting three strokes off Monday's performance.
Kyleigh Leaf (85-88=173, +29) was tied for 65th in the tournament field, while teammate and sister
Kamary Leaf (87-87=174, +30) was tied for 67th, respectively.
Fairleigh Dickinson collected the team trophy, as Albany and Howard rounded out the top three teams in order.
Albany's Mariel Tee was the individual medalist for the event, with four other players finishing tied for second after Tuesday's final round.
Bethune-Cookman will release the 2024 spring schedule later this year closer to the winter holiday seasons.
