DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –
Joe French joined the 1000-point club for his career as the Wildcats took down Southern, 60-53, Saturday night at Moore Gymnasium.
How It Happened
It was a slow start offensively for both squads as the Wildcats (11-18, 7-9 SWAC) and Southern (1-15, 9-6 SWAC) combined to hit just two of their first 20 shots
The Wildcats maintained the slight lead for most of the first half, taking a 32-24 advantage into the break, aided by a 7-15 clip from three. After the 1-9 start, the Wildcats finished out the half shooting
9-15.
The Jaguars climbed to as close as six with four minutes remaining, but the Wildcats kept pace to finish off the six-point victory.
Zion Harmon led the Wildcats with 19 points. He also added four rebounds, two assists, and two steals.
French finished with 16 points thanks to four three pointers.
Dhashon Dyson and
Marcus Garrett rounded out the Wildcats in double figures.
Garrett led the Wildcats with seven rebounds. He also added four assists. James Henderson had a pair of blocks.

- B-CU scored 22 points off of turnovers.
- The Wildcats were out-rebounded, 42-36.
- B-CU turned the ball over 10 times to Southern's 17.
