PRAIRIE VIEW, Texas – As one of five (5) teams tied for second place in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC), Bethune-Cookman Women's Basketball travels to the "Lone Star State" this weekend to face off against Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern. The Wildcats open with Prairie View A&M on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 4 p.m. ET. Then the Cats take on Texas Southern on Monday, Feb. 6, at 6:30 p.m. ET.

SCOUTING PRAIRIE VIEW A&M
As one of five (5) teams tied for second place in the SWAC, Prairie View A&M enters the weekend sporting a 9-11 overall record (6-3 SWAC). The Panthers won their last outing against in-state foe Texas Southern, respectfully. The Tigers are the only team to defeat defending champion Jackson State. Prairie View A&M averages 67.4 points per game as a team, while the Panthers hold a 6-2 record at home on the campaign.

- Diana Rosenthal leads the scoring for the Panthers averaging 16.2 ppg, in addition to averaging 3.2 rpg
- Kennedy Paul shoots at a 34 percent clip from three-point range (32-of-94)
- Three players have 30 or more assists with Nyam Thornton (41), Destiny Jenkins (31) and Mikayla Hutchinson (30)
- Gerlyn Smith leads the Panthers with 14 blocks and 5.2 rebounds per game

Tatum Hayes each scored 13 points in Bethune-Cookman's 70-60 Southwestern Athletic Conference setback to Prairie View A&M in Moore Gymnasium. Diana Rosenthal scored 22 points as the visiting Panthers opened up a 42-30 lead with 2:38 remaining in the third quarter. BCU got it to 44-41 on a
Tania White jumper with 11 seconds to play in the third, but could pull no closer. The Wildcats couldn't get within five points in the final period.
Camary Harris added 10 points for BCU, while White added nine.

SCOUTING TEXAS SOUTHERN
Texas Southern enters the weekend facing Florida A&M on Saturday, before then turning its attention to Bethune-Cookman on Monday evening. The Tigers own a 2-18 overall record, and hold a 1-8 record in SWAC play. While averaging 61.7 points per game scoring, TXSO is allowing opponents to score at an 81.9 points per game clip.

- TSU has three players averaging double-digit scoring, including Micah Gray (17.3 ppg) and Andriana Avent (16.6 ppg)
- Jaida Belton tops the Tigers with 118 rebounds (5.9 per game)
- Kamryn Bates is the playmaker for the Tigers with 61 assists and shooting at a 32.4 percent clip from the field
- Gray is the leading three-point shooter for the Tigers with 40, followed by Avent (37)

Kayla Clark 16-point, 15-rebound double-double led a balanced scoring effort as Bethune-Cookman downed Texas Southern 71-67 in a Southwestern Athletic Conference game in historic Moore Gym.
Imani Reid added 15 as the Wildcats snapped a five-game losing streak. Texas Southern led 49-47 entering the fourth quarter, but BCU took the lead at 55-53 on a
Camary Harris three-pointer with 8:02 remaining. The Wildcats built a 67-59 lead on a Clark lay-up with 3:12 remaining, but Texas Southern closed the gap to 70-67 on Adriana Avant's lay-up with 12 seconds to play. Harris sank a free throw with five seconds left to seal the victory. Harris and
Kayla White each scored 10 points for BCU, who jumped out to an early 13-1 lead and led 23-14 at the end of the first quarter. Atayla Bridges led Texas Southern with 23.
