BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – It was announced Thursday, March 2, that Bethune-Cookman's Kamary Leaf has been selected as the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Women's Golfer of the Week for the period of March 2 through March 8. The announcement came via the league office in Birmingham, Alabama.
 
Kamary Leaf, a 5-foot-7 sophomore from Brownsburg, Indiana, was one of the catalysts behind Bethune-Cookman's play this past week taking part in the annual Monument Golf Oldfield Intercollegiate hosted by the University of South Carolina at Beaufort in Okatie, South Carolina.
 
The Brownsburg High product tied for the lowest score on the Wildcats squad in the event.
 
Leaf finished tied for 30th overall in the field, firing a three-round 242 (+26). She posted a final round team-low matching five-over 77 – her lowest round of the season for the Maroon and Gold. She turned in an opening round card of 85, followed by a second round 80, respectively.
 
Leaf represents the second Bethune-Cookman golfer to be named SWAC Golfer of the Week this season, as teammate Skylar Kew collected the award two weeks ago for the Wildcats.
