Itta Bena, Miss. – For the second night in a row, Wildcat bats came to life as the Wildcats won big over Mississippi Valley State, 19-7, Saturday night at Magnolia Field

The Delta Devils (10-25, 2-12) led first in the contest, taking an early 1-0 lead on a solo homer in the first inning
The Wildcats (19-14, 10-2 SWAC) evend up the contest in the top of the second, as an
Irvin Escobar sacrifice fly scored Boris Pena from third.
The Wildcats broke things open in the fourth with six runs. RBI singles from
Jeremy Garcia,
Derek Cintron, and
Garrett Chun, as well as a three-run homer from
Hylan Hall, made it 7-1, B-CU.
A groundout and sacrifice fly pulled MVSU to within 7-3 in the bottom of the fourth, and another run in the fifth made it 7-4.
In the sixth, Hall's second homer of the game went for two runs to make it 9-4.
A Delta Devils RBI single in the bottom of the game further chipped into the lead, as did a pair of runs in the seventh.
The bats continued to work for the Wildcats in the seventh and eigth as B-CU plated 10-runs ot finish off the run-rule victory. Chun, Hall,
Robert Moya, and
Manny Souffrain collected RBI in the seventh. Chun's sacrifice fly, and homers by Souffrain and
Irvin Escobar, polished off the Wildcats win at 19-7.
Pablo Torres took the win for B-CU on the mound. He finished 5.2 innings, allowing five runs - three earned - on six hits and three walks with six strikeouts.
Gabriel Perez finished off the game on the mound, allowing two earned runs in 2.1 innings on six hits with a walk and five strikeouts.
- Hylan Hall finished the afternoon 3-4 with four runs scored, six RBI, two homers, and two walks.
- Manny Souffrain finished 3-5 with two runs scored and five RBI
- Five other Wildcats recorded RBI in the win.
- 19 runs is a season-high for B-CU.
The Wildcats will go for the series sweep tomorrow at 1 p.m. EST.
