DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. –
Chloe Conover registered 15 kills Friday evening in helping Team Gold to an upset win of Team Maroon, 2-1 at Moore Gymnasium in the annual Maroon/Gold Game for Bethune-Cookman Volleyball.
Gold took the match on scores of 25-21, 23-25, 15-11.
Gold ran out to a commanding lead in the first set, never looking back behind the play of
Elizabeth Phillips. The redshirt junior outside hitter from Noblesville, Indiana supplied her side with six kills in the opening set. Conover chipped in with four kills in the first set for Gold.
In the second set, Maroon used seven kills from
Jasmine Moore and six more from
Malina Spencer to knot the match at 1-1.
Gold claimed the final set at 15-11.
Spencer had 11 kills and three digs for Maroon on the night.
For Gold, it was Conover with 15 kills and Phillips with eight kills and seven digs, respectfully.
Rylee Davis had 15 digs for Gold, and it was
Alisha Callender with 24 assists and 12 digs.
