TALLAHASSEE, FLA. -  True Freshman Victor Kibet is the 2024 SWAC Individual Cross Country Champion as he took home the individual men's title finishing the race with a time of 25:58.4. The Wildcat men finished fourth as a team, while the women finished eighth. 

His performance throughout the season earned him a spot on the All-SWAC First Team, as well as being named SWAC Runner of the Year.

As a team, the Wildcat men finished fourth overall. Texas Southern secured first place with 69 points and won its eighth title in school history, claiming the 2024 SWAC Men's Cross Country Championship title. Behind the Tigers were Prairie View A&M with 85, Alabama A&M with 95, Bethune-Cookman with 102, Jackson State with 103, Southern with 153, Alabama State with 167, Arkansas-Pine Bluff with 173, Alcorn State with 175, Mississippi Valley with 274, and Grambling with 277.
 
The women finished eighth overall. Valencia Butler led the charge, finishing 20th out of 75 runners with a 20:49.2 finish. Alabama State took first place with 47 points, followed by Florida A&M with 49, Prairie View with 86, Alabama A&M with 94, Southern with 155, Arkansas-Pine Bluff with 164, Alcorn State with 173, Bethune-Cookman with 189, Jackson State with 200, Mississippi Valley State with 250, and Grambling with 311.
