BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Seedings for the upcoming Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Tournament in Grambling, Louisiana, was announced Tuesday, Nov. 19, by the league office from its headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama. The tournament is hosted by Grambling State at Hobdy Assembly Center on the campus of Grambling State.
Bethune-Cookman (14-13) will face No. 5 seed Texas Southern on Friday, Nov. 22, at 1:30 p.m. CT.
The Wildcats defeated the Tigers of TSU by a 3-1 decision back on October 18, in Houston, Texas.
After completing an undefeated SWAC season, Florida A&M enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed.
Jackson State claimed the No. 2 seed, while Prairie View A&M claimed the No. 3 seed.
Alabama State claimed the No. 6 seed, while Southern (La.) claimed the No. 7 seed followed by No. 8 seed Grambling State.
In the event of a tie in conference records the league's tiebreaker policy was used to determine final seedings.
The tournament will be played in a single-elimination format, with the championship match set for Sunday, Nov. 24, at 2:30 p.m. CT.
