DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Janet Imbo Nloga took three games at the No. 2 position on Thursday morning, as Bethune-Cookman Women's Tennis fell to visiting Wofford, 7-0 at Derbyshire Park.

"Today I thought we competed hard against a very aggressive team," head coach Chris Wollett said after the match. "Wofford was looking to dictace points from the first ball and didn't give us too many opportunities to take control." 
 
Wofford (1-2) took the early 1-0 lead with a pair of 6-0 wins in doubles play.
 
The Terriers' duo of Grace Agster and Lily Woods defeated Bethune-Cookman's Jalayah Shaw and Allexii Bassette at the No. 1 spot, while the Wildcats' team of Janet Imbo Nloga and Loncey Elie fell to Wofford's Emely Kahrs and Brianna Wilbur at the No. 2 position.
 
In singles play, Bethune-Cookman (0-3) fought tough with the Wildcats picking up six games across the five matches, respectfully.
 
Janet Imbo Nloga played at the No. 2 singles position, falling to the Terriers' Brianna Wilbur in straight sets (6-1, 6-2).
 
At the No. 1 spot, Jalayah Shaw fell in a hard-fought match to Breda Brennan courtesy a 6-1, 6-1 decision.
 
Loncey Elie took a game in the first set from Wofford's Agster at the No. 4 position, before ultimately falling on the day (6-1, 6-0).
 
BCU's Allexii Bassette dropped a straight-set match to the Terriers' Woods at No. 3. And it was BCU's Courdeja Clark falling at the No. 5 position to Emma Sorensen in the No. 5 spot.
 
Bethune-Cookman returns to the court Friday, Feb. 2, for the second of two matches in two days as the Wildcats host Mercer at Derbyshire Park beginning at 10 a.m.

"What I liked about today was the team's efford in adjusting their game plan against their opponents when behind," Wollett continued. " This strategy shoudl really help us against the SWAC opponents later this season."
