JACKSONVILLE, FLA. - The Wildcat men and women's cross country team finished seventh at the Duval 5k, Friday in Jacksonville. The race totaled 12 teams competing on both sides, respectively.
The hosts of North Florida took first place on the men's side finishing with 27 points, followed by Tampa with 31, Flagler with 99, Florida Atlantic with 118, Seminole State College with 152, Eastern Florida with 161, Bethune-Cookman with 186, FSCJ (Jacksonville) with 238, University Running Club with 272, Florida National with 329, Edward Waters with 350, and Beacon College with 360.
On the women's side, B-CU's 218 points landed them seventh. Similar to the men, North Florida took first place with 27 points, followed by Florida Atlantic with 33, Tampa with 71, Flagler with 137, Seminole State College with 164, Florida A&M with 194, Bethune-Cookman with 218, South Florida State College with 237, Eastern Florida with 251, FSCJ (Jacksonville) with 333, Tallahassee CC with 337, Edward Waters with 355, and Florida National with 356.
For the men,
Victor Kibet finished 12th out of 120 teams and led the Wildcats with a 15:53.6 finish followed by
Dashon Gill who finished at 17:42.6
For the women, sophomore
Donika Toussaint exploded for the Cats, posting a 19.55.2 finish followed by veteran
Valencia Butler finishing at 21:22.2
