▪ Bethune-Cookman is riding a season-high three-game winning streak as the Wildcats head to Mississippi, including a win on the road at Grambling State (Jan. 11) to kick off the streak.
▪ Newcomers have supplied 52.9 percent of the Wildcats scoring this season, with two of the top four scorers being Nicholson and Kelley, respectfully.
▪ The Wildcats have never defeated Jackson State, with the average loss being 21.3 points.
▪ The Cats are second in the Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) in field goal defense, with opponents scoring just 63.6 points per game against them. They top the league in opponent field goal percentage (38.7).
▪ Junior forward
Asianae Nicholson is eighth in the SWAC in scoring with an average of 11.9 points per game, while the Ohio native is atop the SWAC stats in rebounding with 10.7 boards per contest.
▪ Senior guard
Kayla White is third in the conference with an 84.6 percent shooting touch at the free throw line.
▪ White, a native of Cleveland, Ohio, is also ranked sixth in the SWAC in assists (2.9 per game).
▪ In her last game, Nicholson pulled down a new career-high 18 rebounds – which includes her numbers from Alabama A&M, against Mississippi Valley State. It was her 11th game of the year with double-figure boards.
▪ Nicholson also added 19 points to secure her ninth double-double of the campaign as well.

Kayla White has connected on her last 13 consecutive free throws dating back to the game away to Florida A&M (January 4).
Bethune-Cookman's winning streak reaches a season-high three games as they improved to 4-1 at Moore Gymnasium with a 67-49 win over Mississippi Valley State.
Bethune-Cookman struggled to put the ball in the basket early as Mississippi Valley State jumped out in front 8-2 early. From there, the Wildcats' frontcourt broke through as Cassandra Hawthorn,
Chanelle McDonald, and
Kayla Clark, each added a pair to bring the Cats back to within 12-10. B-CU's first lead of the game came at the two-minute mark of the first quarter as
Asianae Nicholson's layup made it 14-12. Five straight from MVSU made it a 17-14 game through 10 minutes of play.
After two scoreless minutes to start the second, B-CU moved in front again, 18-17 on a pair of Nicholson free throws. The Delta Devilettes did not stand down, trading the lead again as Kylah McCullers fastbreak layup made it 22-20, Valley, with five minutes until halftime. The two teams swapped leads down the stretch, but McDonald's paint jumper sent the Cats to the half up, 32-29.
The Wildcats opened their largest lead of the game just after halftime as Nicholson's layup made it 34-29, B-CU. MVSU brought it back down to a one-point game one more time on a McCullers layup, but B-CU founds its shooting stroke from there. The Cats broke off a 12-1 run for the remainder of the third, as Clark's layup made it a 47-36 game heading into the final frame.
B-CU continued to pour it on, as two straight
Daimoni Dorsey layups made it a 15-point contest with eight minutes remaining.
Jordan Brooks made it a 20-point game on a layup, and later a 26-point lead on a pair of free throws as the Cats cruised to the 67-49 win on their home floor.

BCU VS. JACKSON STATE SERIES
▪ Jackson State holds a 6-0 lead against Bethune-Cookman all-time, with all six meetings occurring since the Wildcats joined the SWAC prior to the start of the 2021-22 season.
▪ Each setback has come by double digits, respectfully.
▪ In Mississippi, B-CU is 0-3, with the last game being a 52-39 defeat on February 19, 2024.
▪ JSU took the opening game of the series by an 82-49 decision in Daytona Beach on January 22, 2022.

SCOUTING JACKSON STATE
▪ Traditional SWAC power Jackson State is ranked atop the league standings with a 5-1 conference mark and owns a 7-10 record overall on the campaign.
▪ The Tigers' lone loss in league play came away to Texas Southern by way of a 69-54 score line on January 16.
▪ JSU is scoring an average of 57.5 points per game, while opponents score at a 68.2 points per game clip against them.
▪ The Tigers are shooting 35.1 percent from the field, including a 30.5 percent mark from three-point range.
▪Taleah Dilworth tops the Tigers scoring with 268 points (15.8 per game), as teammates Leianya Massenat (9.6 ppg) and Diaka Berete (7.8 ppg) follow suit.
▪ Rebounds are handled by Zoe Cooper with a team-high 102 (6.0 per game) and Shalance Montoya (5.5 rpg).
▪ Berete is the team's leader from three-point range having knocked down 25 three-pointers. Massenat is second on the team with 19 three-pointers, respectfully.
▪ From the field, in general, it's Dilworth once again leading the bunch with a 47.3 percent shooting touch, while Montoya shoots at a 45.5 percent clip.

BCU VS. ALCORN STATE SERIES
▪ Bethune-Cookman holds a slight 3-2 lead all-time in the series against Alcorn State.
▪ The two teams split a pair of meetings last season, with the home teams holding court, respectively.
▪ It was Alcorn taking the last meeting in Lorman by way of a 51-40 count on February 17, 2024.
▪ The last time B-CU won in Lorman was a 64-48 score line in the first-ever meeting between the two sides on February 12, 2022.

SCOUTING ALCORN
▪ The Braves of Alcorn State arrive to the weekend owning a record of 3-13 overall, and a 1-4 mark in SWAC play, first facing Florida A&M on Saturday.
▪ Alcorn is averaging 57.2 points per game, while the Braves are giving up 71.4 points per game to their opposition.
▪ The Braves shoot 35.8 percent from the field as a team, with opponents shooting 43.6 percent against them, respectfully.
▪ From three-point range, Alcorn shoots 25.2 percent as a unit, with the Braves also turning the ball over an average of 18.6 times per contest.
▪ All-SWAC performer Destiny Brown tops the Braves in scoring with 168 points (12.9 per game), followed by senior guard and Mississippi native Zy'Nyia White with 136 points (9.1 per game).
▪ Brown is also the team's leading rebounder with 103 (7.9 per game), as well as leading the squad in assists (29) from her forward position on the court.
▪ Senior guard Maya Hunkin-Claytor is the three-point threat for the Braves as she leads the team with 24 baskets from long range.
▪ Grad student Sharmanye Finley is shooting at a 42.1 percent clip from the field to top the squad in that department.
Bethune-Cookman returns home to Richard V. Moore Gymnasium in welcoming the pair of Alabama schools in the SWAC as Alabama A&M (Jan. 30) and Alabama State (Feb. 1) descend upon Daytona Beach.
