PINE BLUFF, Ark. - The Wildcats are one win shy of matching the program record for consecutive wins after a three-set sweep of UAPB, Friday night at H.O. Clemmons Arena.
Bethune-Cookman (11-11, 8-2 SWAC) jumped all over Arkansas - Pine Bluff (1-22, 1-9 SWAC) after first serve, moving up 9-2 quickly in set one off the serve of
Nola Hemphill.
UAPB could never muster more than three consecutive points as the Wildcats rolled to a 25-17 opening-set win.
The dominance continued into set two with
Kaleigh Williams at the serve, pushing B-CU to a 7-2 lead. UAPB showed signs of life after a service ace and two B-CU attack errors to tie things at 8-8, but 10 Golden Lion attack errors were too much to overcome as the Wildcats finished off the second-set win.
After a back-and-forth third set saw UAPB hold an 11-9 advantage, the Wildcats retook command, pulling away and taking the set and the match 25-16 after three consecutive UAPB attack errors.

- AJ Simmons and Amya Jennings led in the kills department with seven each, with each hitting over .350 for the match.
- Sthefany Carvallo led with 15 digs and chipped in six assists.
- Melissa Gonzalez led the team with 17 assists.
The Wildcats will look to match the all-time program record for consecutive wins (8) win a win over Grambling State Sunday. The match is set for 3 p.m. in Baton Rouge, La.
