DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman hosts Florida A&M in a big Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Volleyball match Wednesday evening as the Wildcats look to break a 10-match skid against the Rattlers. The match begins at 6 p.m.

NEWS & NOTES
â–ª Bethune-Cookman will be wearing pink in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
â–ª The Wildcats finished last week 1-1 in a road trip away to Alabama A&M and Alabama State, respectively.
â–ª Tiyanna Preston leads the Cats in kills with 128 (2.21 per set), followed closely by Ariel "AJ" Simmons with 116 kills (2.00 per set).
â–ª Amya Jennings was named Wildcat Women's Athlete of the Week after the Edina, Minnesota native tallied 25 kills, 27 digs, two blocks and a service ace last weekend.
â–ª The two-setter system is topped by sophomore Nola Hemphill with 305 assists (5.17 per set), while freshman Melissa Gonzalez owns 209 assists (3.54 per set).
â–ª Kaleigh Williams leads the SWAC in blocks (72), and graduate transfer Sthefany Carvalho tops the conference in digs (252).
 
BCU VS. FLORIDA A&M SERIES
â–ª Florida A&M leads the all-time series against Bethune-Cookman by a commanding 65-6 advantage.
â–ª The Rattlers have won the last 10 consecutive in the series dating back to 2019 when both teams were members of the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC).
▪ In 2014-15, B-CU won three consecutive matches against the Rattlers, including a season sweep in 2015 – the first time ever B-CU swept the Rattlers in a season.
â–ª Under Head Coach Brittany Williams, the Cats are 5-15, as she owns all but one of B-CU's all-time wins against the Rattlers.
 
SCOUTING THE RATTLERS
â–ª Florida A&M is 3-12 overall on the year, holding a 1-3 mark in SWAC play.
â–ª The Rattlers are coming off a 0-2 weekend in their last outings in Alabama against Alabama A&M and Alabama State, respectfully.
â–ª LaDonna Trantham paces the Rattlers in kills with 142 (2.41 per set), joined in triple digits by Iyonnie Sanford (115) and Farah Farooq (110).
â–ª The setter position is occupied by Bengisu Kazazlar with a team-leading 256 assists (4.49 per set), while Makenzie Taylor has 178 assists (3.30 per set) of her own.
â–ª The libero position is manned by Ruxandra Flueras who owns 162 digs (3.31 per set).
â–ª Farooq tops the team with 67 blocks (59 assists) as well.
