B-CU Holds Off Bobcats' Late Rally

Wildcats Pickup Second Win of the Season

Athens, OH - Jakobi Heady scored 20 points against his former MAC rival as Bethune-Cookman was able to hold off a late Ohio rally to close out a 76-73 win on the road.  Header How it Happened
1st Half
After several lead changes early on, Bethune Cookman (2-3) was able to build a substantial lead over the Bobcats (1-4) and take control of the game during the first half.

Following a jumper by Ohio's Aidan Hadaway, the Bobcats took 10-9 lead with 13:35 left. The Wildcats proceeded to go on a 15-2 run capped off by a Jordan Johnson three-pointer to give B-CU a 24-12 advantage with 9:51 left.

The Bobcats were able to generate a run of their own, as they outscored the Wildcats 8-0 over the next three minutes of action to cut the deficit to four. The late surge stalled before they could retake the lead though as B-CU went into halftime with a 37-29 lead.

2nd Half
The second half saw Ohio continue to claw their way back into the game. The Bobcat's Elijah Elliott made a layup following a B-CU turnover to cut the lead down to four again.

After some back-and-forth, Ohio generated a 9-2 run to take a 49-48 lead with 13:14 left. The Bobcats failed to build on their lead, as the Cats quickly responded with a 10-4 push, bringing their lead back up to five.

Ohio once again tied the game 67-67 following a bucket by Aidan Hadaway at the 4:51 mark, but B-CU was able to close out the win, holding the Bobcats to just six points the rest of the way. Important buckets by Quintin and Jakobi Heady helped the Wildcats seal the deal.
