Pair of Wildcats Earn HBCU All-American Honors

DAYTONA BEACH - Javon Ross and Max Tulen have been named to the HBCU All-American Team, BOXTOROW announced, recognizing both as two of the top specialists in HBCU football. Antwone Watts was also honored as an honorable mention selection. Ross earned an additional accolade, being named the HBCU Co–Special Teams Player of the Year.

Javon Ross was a reliable force for B-CU both as a receiver and a returner. The sophomore finished with 52 catches for 685 yards and four touchdowns while also adding 84 yards and a touchdown on the ground. He ranked fourth in the SWAC in receiving yards and third in catches per game. As a returner, Ross had 506 yards and two return touchdowns. His two return touchdowns and 1275 all-purpose yards were the most of any player in the league.

Max Tulen was a weapon for the Wildcats' special teams unit, finishing as one of the top punters in the league. His 44.6 yards per punt led the SWAC and he was able to pin the ball inside the 20-yard line on 10 different occasions. His 10 punts of 50+ yards was 4th in the league.
