OKLAHOMA CITY - Bethune-Cookman cornerback
Johnny Harris III has been named a finalist for the Aeneas Williams Award, the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame announced. The award looks to highlight the best defensive back in HBCU Division I college football.
Harris III is one of three finalists for the prestigious award. The redshirt senior has developed into a cornerstone of Bethune-Cookman's secondary, totaling 33 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, and a fumble recovery this season. He finished seventh in the SWAC with nine pass breakups and added two interceptions. Harris III delivered one of his strongest performances against FIU, recording six tackles, two of them for loss, along with a pass breakup.
