BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Bethune-Cookman men's basketball took home a pair of SWAC weekly awards as Trey Thomas was named Impact Player of the Week and Jesus Carralero Martin was named Newcomer of the Week, the conference office announced Tuesday from its headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.

Trey Thomas was the driving force as an undermanned Wildcat squad made it four straight wins with a road trip sweep over Prairie View A&M and Texas Southern. He posted a combined 45 points with five assists, 14 rebounds, and a steal. He finished just a few points shy of his career-high with a 27-point outburst in Saturday's win over the Panthers. 

Carralero Martin takes home the first weekly honor of his career after totalling 22 pooints on an afficient 7-11 shooting with 11 rebounds, 10 assists - including a career-high seven at Texas Southern Monday - four blocks, and three steals. 

This marks the fifth and sixth weekly honors for the  2024-25 Wildcats. Brayon Freeman leads B-CU with three, with Thomas right behind at two. Thomas was last named Impact Player of the Week on January 21. 

 The Wildcats return to the court on Saturday, Jan. 25 as they host Alcorn State at Moore Gymnasium. Tipoff is set for 5:30 p.m. EST - admission is free with a student ID.
