Raymond Woodie Jr. announces second signing class as head coach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Bethune-Cookman Football and head coach Raymond Woodie Jr. welcomes in his second signing class at the helm of the Wildcats as he announces the 2025 B-CU National Signing Day Class. The Wildcats will look to build on a 2-10 season in 2024 that saw B-CU drop six contests by one score or less.

Cameron Anderson • DB
6-0 160    Miami, Fla.  Miami Northwestern
 

Anderson, a defensive back from Miami Florida, joins the Wildcats out of Miami Northwestern High School, where he played under head coach and NFL veteran Teddy Bridgewater in his senior season - a season that ended in a win over Raines HS in the 2024 FHSAA State Championship. The 6-foot, 160lb DB played in five games in his senior season, totalling 10 tackles - six solo - and two pass breakups. Prior to his time with the Bulls, Anderson also spent time at Hallandale Magnet High School.


Jadon Blake  •  OL
6-4  •  275  •  Sanford, Fla.  •  Seminole HS


An explosive athlete that serves primarily at the wide receiver position, while also playing as a cornerback at Monsignor Pace High in his hometown of Miami, Florida. Also received an offer from Wofford before deciding on Bethune-Cookman. Hauled in 77 receptions throughout his prep career, totaling 1,254 yards and 12 touchdowns. As a senior in 2024, Anderson posted 32 catches for 498 yards and four touchdowns. Had his best season as a junior (2023), where he grabbed 34 catches for 630 yards, averaging 18.5 yards per reception, for seven touchdowns. Defensively, tallied two interceptions in 2023, adding another four pass deflections. Produced one interception as a senior, in 11 games as a senior, also managing three assisted tackles.


Noah Devine • C
6-2 305 Minneola, Fla.   The First Academy

 


Devine, a center out of Minneola, Florida, played high school ball for head coach Jeff Conaway at The First Academy in Orlando. During his time with the Royals, he was named Offensive Line MVP and First-Team All-District.



Phillip Moore • WR/OLB
6-3  200  Daytona Beach, Fla. Mainland HS
 


Prepped under a pair of former Bethune-Cookman alums - Travis Roland and Jerrime "Squatty" Bell at nearby Mainland High. Played as both a wide receiver and defensive back for the Buccaneers. Finished his senior year with 29 receptions for 384 yards and three touchdowns, allowing him to conclude his varsity career with 31 catches for 405 yards and five TDs. On the defensive side of the ball, Moore had 52 tackles across his varsity career, adding one fumble recovery and one interception.


Kwasie Kwaku Jr. • ATH
6-0 • 175 • Port Orange, Fla. • Mainland HS

 

Another local product from Mainland High School in Daytona Beach, Florida. Played as both a running back and defensive back for the Buccaneers. Picked off four passes and added another four pass deflections as a senior, including one return for touchdown. In his varsity career, turned in 1,338 yards on the ground - with 1,184 of those yards occurring in his junior season where he had 15 touchdowns via the ground. Registered 154 yards on 31 carries in his senior year, going on to add two touchdowns on the ground. Hauled in four passes for 21 yards in 2024 as well. Finished the 2024 campaign with 34 tackles, allowing him to record 63 tackles across his junior and senior seasons at Mainland, adding six tackles for loss.


Juan Rodriguez  RB

190 Miami Beach, Fla. Norland HS
 

Rushed for more than 2,000 yards in his varsity career at South Florida prep power Miami Norland High School under Head Coach Daryle Heidelburg. Carried the ball 139 times for 1,179 yards and 11 touchdowns as a senior, adding 18 receptions for 275 yards and two touchdowns through the air. In his junior season racked up 855 yards on 94 rushing attempts and six touchdowns. Across two years of varsity football, Rodriguez had seven (7) games of at least 100 yards rushing. On special teams, registered seven kickoff returns and one punt return. Prepped his freshman and sophomore years at Miami Beach High School. Played his high school ball alongside B-CU offensive lineman Verron Clarke who signed with the Wildcats last year.


Kriston Bell • OL
6-6 295 New Orleans, La.   Alabama State Edna Karr HS
 

Kriston Bell spent the 2024 season at Alabama State, signing with the Hornets out of high school from Edna Karr High in New Orleans, Louisiana. The offensive lineman did not see action as a true freshman in 2024. Helped Edna Karr High to a 2023 Louisiana Class 5-A semifinal appearance, after the Cougars posted a 10-2 record and a 5-A District 9 Region mark of 5-2, respectively. Ranked a three-star offensive tackle out of high school.



Laron Davis • DL
6-3 290  Daytona Beach, Fla. Charleston Southern Mainland HS
 

Laron Davis transfers into Bethune-Cookman from Charleston Southern, returning to his hometown of Daytona Beach, Florida, where he played under former head coach Travis Roland and the Buccaneers. Last year, Davis accumulated 23 tackles (14 assisted) in 12 games played, adding one tackle behind the line of scrimmage, and one fumble recovery to go along with a quarterback hurry. Redshirted in 2021, later seeing time in 10 games across the 2022 season, finishing the year with 15 tackles and 2.0 tackles for loss and a pair of pass breakups. In his three-year career with the CSU Bucs, Davis registered 67 tackles (34 solo) and two quarterback sacks.



Abram Fofana • DL
 6-2 332 Orlando, Fla. Stetson Lake Nona HS
 

Defensive lineman that comes to Bethune-Cookman from nearby Stetson University in DeLand, Florida. Played the 2024 season with the Hatters, seeing action in six games as a true freshman, pulling in four total tackles - including two solo stops. Had one quarterback sack against St. Thomas (MN). At Lake Nona High, Fofana produced 21 tackles (15 solo) as a senior in 2023, also tallying one fumble recovery. Forced one fumble from his defensive line spot as well.



Devin Gunter • DB
 5-11  175   Missouri City, Tx.  Nevada  Ridge Point HS
 

Rated a three-star cornerback by 247Sports coming out of Ridge Point High School in Missouri City, Texas in 2023. In 2024, Gunter played in eighty games for the Wolfpack, making three tackles - all coming against Eastern Washington, respectfully. Played in just one game for both the 2020 and 2022 seasons, but picked up action in 10 games as a redshirt freshman in 2021. Ended his career at Nevada with six total tackles (five solo) and a pass breakup. Also lettered in basketball and track & field at Ridge Point High. Served as a wide receiver as a junior, hauling in 11 receptions for 304 yards and five touchdowns. Earned first team All-District Division 6-A honors his senior year as a defensive back.




Montravius Lloyd • RB
5-10  185  St. Petersburg, Fla. Pitt • Lakewood HS

 

Montravius Lloyd comes to Daytona Beach after spending two seasons at Pitt in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC). A native of St. Petersburg, Florida, graduated from Lakewood High and was rated a three-star recruit in the Class of 2023. Ranked as the No. 98 athlete and No. 156 recruit in Florida by 247Sports, while On3 rated him as the No. 46 athlete and No. 146 in Florida. Later ranked by ESPN as the No. 59 running back and No. 131 in his state. As a freshman in 2023, saw action in the Panthers' win over Wofford, also making one catch for seven yards and had five carries for 20 yards as well on the day. While at Lakewood High, compiled 872 all-purpose yards in leading his side to the Florida Class 2M, Region 2 championship.



Timothy McClain • QB
6-1 192 Sanford, Fla.   Arkansas State Seminole HS
 


McClain joins the Wildcats out of Arkansas State, where he competed in four games, where he passed for four touchdowns during his time with the Red Wolves. He also rushed for a touchdown in the 2024 season. Prior to his time with Arkansas State, he spent time around the state of Florida, including stopss at UCF and UCF. With the Knights, he spent the 2022 season as a redshirt before playing in seven games - three of them starts, in 2023, completing 64 of 102 passes for 1,065 yards and nine touchdowns. He earned a Pro Football Network All-ACC honorable Mention with USF in 2021, earning the starting QB job with the Bulls by game three of the season. He started nine of 11 games as a true freshman, leading USF with 1,888 yards with a 116.8 passer rating. He tossed five touchdowns and rushed for for with 238 rushing yards on the season. He has experience against SWAC competition, winning his first career start against Florida A&M with 163 passing yards and a touchdown along with 50 rushing yards. Out of high school, McClain was ranked as a three-star recruit by 247Sports, Rivals, and Scout out of Seminole HS. He was ranked No. 21 by Rivals.com's 2021 dual-threat quarterback list. He ranked No. 30 on the ESPN 300 2021 top dual-threat quarterbacks list, and No. 39 on 247Sports dual-threat quarterbacks list. He helped Seminole HS go undefeated (12-0) to the Class 8A State Championship to become the first undefeated state championship team in Orlando Area History. He finished his high school career with a 40-5 career record.



Maleek McNeil • OL
6-8 340 Garrison, NY Georgia State Walter Panas HS
 

An offensive lineman out of Garrison, New York, Maleek McNeil transfers to Daytona out of Georgia State, where he appeared in one game with the Panthers, making his season debut against Chattanooga in September. A JUCO transfer from Monroe College, McNeil played in six games for the Mustangs, who finished 6-5 in NJCCA play. McNeil began his college career at Penn State in 2022. He has also received offers from Central Michigan, UMASS, and several other FCS programs.





Rickie Shaw • WR
6-2 • 195 • Jacksonville, Fla. • Wofford • Riverside HS

 

Florida native Rickie Shaw joins the Wildcats as a transfer out of Wofford College in South Carolina. In 2024, Shaw caught 10 passes for 181 yards and a touchdown with the Terriers. In his freshman season in 2023, Shaw started the first four games of the season before sustaining an injury. He had previously compiled 10 catches for 113 yards. The Jacksonville native spent his high school career at Riverside, where he played both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and defensive back. He helped the Marching Generals to two playoff appearances, catching 24 passes for 286 yards and five touchdowns in his senior year. In his junior year, he earned first-team All-Conference honors and third-team All-State recognition roe a 44-catch, 725-yard, 12–touchdown season. He also played basketball in high school.


Hunt Tatum • LB
6-2 • 223 • Locust Grove, GA • Tennessee Valley Prep • Strong Rock Christian

 

Hunt Tatum, a linebacker out of Locust Grove, Ga. joins B-CU out of Tennessee Valley Prep, where he helped his team to a 7-1 finish in 2024 He joins B-CU after decommitting from Georgia State. Tatum also played baseball with Strong Rock, where he was named Preseason All-State in 2024 and GIAA 4a Player of the Year in 2023.
