ATLANTA - Trey Thomas has been named an All-SWAC First Teamer, with teammated Daniel Rouzan named to the All-SWAC Second Team, it was announced Monday evening in Atlanta.

Guard Trey Thomas burst onto the scene in the 2024-25 season, immediately emerging as one of the most prolific scorers in the SWAC in his first season with a Wildcats team that set a program-best in SWAC wins since joining the conference in 2021. He led the Wildcats in nearly every offensive category – appearing in every game on the year with 27 starts. Thomas led the Wildcats in minutes (990), points (513), points per game (16.5), threes made (60), three point percentage with a minimum of 100 attempts (34%), and free throws made and attempted (115-149). He also finished the season second on the team in free throw percentage (.772), and assists (66).

On the SWAC leaderboards, Thomas led the league in total scoring, ranked third in the league in points per game, and ranked fourth in threes made. He made the most free throws in the conference on the fifth-best percentage from the line. Thomas also swiped 36 steals with 110 rebounds on the season.

Thomas posted games of 20 or more points ten times on the year, including a career-high 31 points in a win over UAPB on Jan. 20. He scored in double figures in all but seven of his 31 games played. He dished out a career-high six assists with 19 points in a Feb. 17 game against Jackson State.

Thomas earned SWAC weekly honors on five occasions in the season, three times being named SWAC Impact Player of the Week, as well as Newcomer of the week on Feb. 25 and Player of th Week .

Daniel Rouzan quickly emerged as one of the top big men in the SWAC in his first season with a Wildcats team that set a program-best in SWAC wins since joining the conference in 2021. The only Wildcat to start every game in the 2024-25 season, Rouzan averaged 12 points per game on a team-best .564 shooting percentage (min. 100 attempts). He totaled 167 rebounds – 46 offensive, along with 19 assists and 23 blocks.

Rouzan recorded two 20+ point games, including a season-high 24 on 9-11 shooting in a win at Texas Southern on Feb. 10. He scored in double figures 19 times, including in 13 of his final 16 games of the year.

The Wildcats will embark on their run in the 2025 Southwestern Athletic Conference tournament as they take on Alcorn State on Thursday, March 13. Tipoff is set for 8:30 p.m. EST at Gateway Center Arena in Atlanta.
