BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –
Asianae Nicholson has once again grabbed a Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) weekly award, this time being named Co-Newcomer of the Week for the period of March 4-10, as she currently sits second nationally for double-doubles on the year. The announcement came from the league headquarters in Birmingham, Alabama.

Nicholson, a junior forward from South Euclid, Ohio, registered back-to-back double-doubles for Bethune-Cookman last week in league games versus Grambling State and Southern (La.) at home. She contributed 28 points, 33 rebounds and three blocked shots across the two games, respectfully. She shot 41.7 percent from the field overall.

Against Grambling State, Nicholson scored 17 points and pulled down a season-high 19 rebounds, all while shooting 67 percent from the floor. She also added two blocks against the Tigers. Two days later, the Brush High alum collected 14 rebounds and scores 11 points against Southern (La.) – giving her a total of 20 double-doubles altogether.

In all, Nicholson leads the SWAC in total rebounds (199) and rebounds per game (11.5).
