BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -Bethune-Cookman second baseman
Jesus Vanegas has secured Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) Hitter of the Week, it was announced Tuesday from the conference headquarters in Birmingham, Ala.
Vanegas enjoyed an excellent weekend at the plate in a three-game sweep of Florida A&M to secure first place in the conference standings. In three games, he finished 6-12 at the plate with three runs scored, seven RBI, a homer, two doubles, and a walk.
This marks the fourteenth weekly honors of the season B-CU baseball, and the second of the year for Vanegas, who was last named Hitter of the Week on April 4.
The Cats will host USF for a midweek matchup on Wednesday, April 23, at 4 p.m. at Jackie Robinson Ballpark.
