TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Bethune-Cookman Women's Tennis saw its 2024-25 season come to a close Saturday morning as the Wildcats dropped a 4-0 decision away to Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) and in-state opponent Florida A&M at Althea Gibson Tennis Complex.
Bethune-Cookman (2-15, 1-8 SWAC) has been sidelined with injuries the last two weeks, while the Wildcats were unable to field players at No. 5 and No. 6 doubles, as well as No. 3 doubles.
Florida A&M (8-10, 7-2 SWAC) opened taking the No. 3 doubles position, and used a 6-2 win at the No. 2 position with the team of Susan Salinas and Veronica Rodriguez defeating the Wildcats duo of
Keona Burley and
Lesa Snipes-Williams.
FAMU led 1-0 heading into singles play.
The Rattlers used wins at No. 5 and No. 6 to lead 3-0 in the match.
With three singles matching going unfinished, the only result in head-to-head was a 6-0, 6-0 straight-set win by FAMU's Reagan Harris over the Wildcats'
Lesa Snipes-Williams on court four. That win put the match result at 4-0 for the hosts.
